Be aware that all the food has some form of chocolate in it. Most of it is excellent, but some is odd. Also, be aware that even though the climate is temperate, there is no air conditioning and the rooms are open to the atmosphere on the West wall and above the showers. We had an excellent time and would return.

Luxurious, and tasteful hotel. Helpful, friendly, respectful and polite staff at the Hotel. Beautiful surroundings. Tour of the Cocoa plantation with chocolate making (bean to chocolate bar experience) was fantastic. Plenty to do in the area all arranged by the Staff at our request. Not for the faint hearted budget wise.

We came here for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! The service is truly great and the meals were outstanding- probably the best breakfasts I’ve ever had - the chocolate tour was wonderful, dinners weren’t cheap but were fantastic. Rooms don’t have A/C and are open but we liked the sounds of frogs and bugs at night and the fan kept us cool- they also have a mosquito net around the bed- shower was amazing, room service was fantastic- So many fun things to do nearby (rainforest walk, mud baths, beautiful beaches and a snorkeling, volcano hikes, botanical gardens and waterfalls, great restaurants-we absolutely loved our stay here!

The staff was welcoming, property beautiful and food was amazing! Cons no phone in the room the room had to go to reception desk each time. Be prepared for no tv or radio which wasn't a big issue for me. Also no AC and there were mosquitoes.

Endless mosquitoes in our net covered bedding, in the lounge area and through the room was unbearable. The substandard cooling system (a ceiling fan and oscillating fan) was quite laughable. We barely slept on any of the 8 nights that we spent there. And to top it off, I absolutely did not appreciate being pointed out at the airport by a hotel staff, as a person of interest that needed a secondary screening before boarding the aircraft.

I loved it. Besides the fact its no partylife or anything to do around there. The Estate is nice. Need more food options though, its only one restaurant on site. I was also bit up there. Not sure what type of Mosquitoes thwy have or what type of bugs but I had like 20 on me. I HATE THAT. Overall the property is beautiful though.. Taxis or transportation there is safe vut too expensive.

We loved the plantation surrounding the hotel. The only thing we didn't like was the listing that Orbitz uses as it was a little misleading. Orbitz listed the room as a Deluxe Room (Lodge) and the hotel website lists their top tier rooms as Luxe Eco Lodges. Orbitz please remove the word Deluxe from the listing on your site because we expected the Luxe room but did get one. Ruined our inital experience but overall loved the property.
