“The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views overlooking Lake Windermere. The staff are lovely, efficient, and professional- we were even allowed to check in early and received a wonderful room upgrade on arrival! A few small improvements would make the experience even better: Cleanliness- There were a few spiderwebs on our ceiling that were missed during room prep. “The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen.
