“Although the room was clean, the decor needs updating as it is starting to look tired. the window catch was broken at the frame, but it was warm overnight so not a problem to me, but maybe an issue in the colder weather. The bathroom was clean, but there is mould staining in the tile grout. we had to wait over 5 minutes to be seated for breakfast on the Friday. if the person who does the "meet and greet" is over worked, then a second person should also be available. “This is a small hotel which has been decorated well. the staff are friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was really good The rooms are clean and lovely. However, there is no lift and there are 3 floors. there isn't a large separate lounge. However ,the views are amazing.”

“We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. It’s not the cheapest hotel, and not the most fancy...
