“Lovely character hotel with a terrific swimming pool”

“El hotel hotel en general bastante bien, llegue ya de noche y aparqué el coche en una plazas que hay justo al lado del hotel. La habitación pequeña pero suficiente. El bar y comedor eran bastante bonitos. El desayuno bien, pero eche en falta una un poco interacción para entendernos (hablo muy poco inglés).”

“We returned for our 2nd wedding anniversary and had an amazing stay. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. We had our two dogs with us who were treated as well as we were if not better! Breakfast had ample options and staff could not be more helpful. A relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views. We can’t wait to go back.”

“The hotel was difficult to find as it’s a small door at the end of a building block. There is no parking, you need to use any of the city lots at £14 a week. Room was quiet and clean. Haystacks is an excellent cafe downstairs.”

“The location is remote, peaceful and lovely. It's an old building and full of character with huge, comfortable rooms. All the staff were helpful. Breakfasts were a little limited, but adequate. We didn't enjoy the one dinner we had, but it was good value. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for its excellent value accommodation and location.”

“I stayed in the Hayloft. My hosts could not have been more charming. The Hayloft was beautifully furnished and much care had gone into it. The one thing that I think let it down was the quality of the beds - 4 singles - the mattress lacked support and you could actually feel the springs in it. I think a mattress upgrade would match the high quality bedding that is provided. The only other thing was that the fridge was switched off and open when I arrived. Maybe this is the way it is done in...

“This hotel is exceptional. Itwas absolutely top notch. Could have been much dearer price. Breakfast was fantastic. Reception staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Supplied with dog bed for our terrier. Lovely town with lots of classy shops. Good dog walks. A must!!! Will hopefully visit again. PS. The hotel interior inc all decorations is outstanding. Not to be missed!!”

“With so many negative reviews regarding the size of the room, we paid extra for their bigger room. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were shown to our room. The entrance to the rooms was having a mould problem, so an extractor had been installed and reed diffuser to mask the smell. The room itself was comfortable, clean, no damp smells which I feared on entry to the block. As expected from previous reviews the bathroom was tiny but that wasn’t a problem… we were here for the...
