“Excellent central location. The staff were helpful especially in reception and spa. The dining staff were efficient but less cheerful than one might expect in an establishment like this. Breakfast was plentiful but uninspiring. Luggage drop off was difficult due to heavy vehicles blocking the hotel entrance. The plumbing made a loud vibrating noise for 10 minutes after each toilet flush. The shower had excellent pressure and hot water. The room mini fridge had the internal light hanging...

“The whole experience at the hotel was fantastic. The food was good, room was clean , the bed was comfy, the area is quiet and the staff were excellent. Ideal stop off for travelling from North to South.”

“Beautiful gardens. Access to the lake for paddleboard etc. although fairly steep walk down and back. Saw a couple of deer on the walk down. Quirky layout of the building. No clear directions on check in and lots of 'staff only' areas and doors. Sitting areas have great views. Need to be fit enough to carry luggage up stairs. Comfortable room and bed. Rooms not soundproofed. Old fashioned key. Lovely hot water. Dinner was good. ”

“We can't recommend Storrs Gate House enough, such a good break away here. Susann and Glenn are amazing hosts, such friendly, lovely people. Breakfasts were incredible and definitely set you up for the day, we are missing those breakfasts! The house is so beautiful, our room was perfect, plenty of space and beautifully decorated. Our celebratory time away was made all the more special staying at Storrs Gate, we would definitely like to stay here again, thank you for such a lovely stay.”
