“I arrived on a Sunday and had sent a message several days before to say that I would like an evening meal. I went to the dining area at 8pm only to be told that the kitchen had closed for the evening so I was unable to get anything to eat that evening although I was offered crisps. On arrival I was told that the bar would be open until late so I assumed that I would be able to get a bar meal up until about 10pm. “Parking in the hotel car park was almost impossible unless you have pre booked at a cost of £8 a night in a reserved space. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation which inevitably involves some scaffolding on part of the outside and the ballroom is nearing completion. These things caused little inconvenience as we enjoyed a lovely de luxe room with a fabulous view over the harbour. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall we enjoyed a lovely short break and will be returning”
