This place is very unique unlike most other places. It has alot of charm with beautiful views. The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. One of the ladies Julie was so kind. She would make a fresh batch of decaf coffee just for my wife and serve her with an amazing smile. They made us feel very special and among friends. The food at La Colline is delicious and appropriately priced. I definitely will go back to this location.

Great place to stay, everyone was very friendly. Parking was easy as everyone gets a parking permit. The room was very clean and cleaning was done each day we stayed (5 nights). Only thing that could be better is the pool could be a little cleaner. But also understanding as it was just coming out of Texas winter so the pool probably wasn't used as much consideringit'soutside. There was lots of wasp floating around, leaves, and the bottom looked a little dirty from stuff sinking to the bottom. It didn't stop prople from going in though.

We had a very enjoyable two day stay at Hillside. At check-in I was greeted warmly and it was a breeze. I was given information on the restaurant, bar and check out time at the end of my stay. Clear directions were given to our room. This property has several buildings with eight rooms in each. Our room included a small balcony with chairs and was shaded by large live oak trees. We did not use the pool, but it looked well kept and inviting. There is a small yard space with a covered overlook - the view was beautiful. There is a spa onsite, but you will need to book ahead of time. We had a short stay and other items on our agenda so were not able to book an appointment. We enjoyed a drink in the bar on our first night, the staff was inviting and very attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant looked nice, but we did not have a chance to enjoy. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful - really seem to enjoy working at Hillside. We had a two queen room. It had a small table with chairs, dresser and a refrigerator. The bathroom was a good size and the water pressure in the shower was delightful! I would love to return here for a longer stay and enjoy the spa. Castroville is a quaint little Texas town with a rich history of it's French/German beginnings. Take time to check out the town.

Yes, the staff was courteous and very friendly. I did make some suggestions. I need handicap parking spaces in spots so you can be close to the ramps. Also, it would be helpful if they had carts to get your luggage to your room other than that, the state was very pleasant and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
