“Let's start with the positive. Fantastic location close to pubs & restaurants Bed comfortable. Very disappointed, the hotel was very run down & tired. Staff were not welcoming and lacked enthusiasm. Buffet breakfast very average. Parking was difficult, You can purchase a 24 hr parking pass. But a parking space is not guaranteed if you decide to go visit the surrounding areas. Dog friendly at a cost of £20 a night, front door locked at 11pm. Sadly, we checked out early. Not recommended.”

“We had a wonderful weekend at the Wheatsheaf - everything from arrival to departure was just wonderful. The onsite parking in the middle of a town was very welcome. The staff on arrival were friendly and helpful and the room was clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished (thank you for the room upgrade). “El alojamiento Ensi muy muy antiguo y proporcionalmente con escasez de dotaciones en las habitaciones (pocos enchufes irregularidad en la calefacción….) el camino desde la carretera al Hotel completamente a oscuras sin ningún tipo de iluminación por la noche…… lo cual compensaba por el trato del personal que fue estupendo”

“Lovely room, perfect for relaxing after a day out walking. Chosen because it was dog friendly and it did not disappoint - good for walking into town and loved that there was a map showing us how to get there by avoiding the main road. Breakfasts were delicious! Thank you for our stay.”

“Excellent hotel and highly recommend to all. Location is perfect. Right in the centre of Buxton. Very beautiful and surrounded by lovely cafes, bars, restaurants. There isn’t a car park on site so I parked in the train station which cost about £5 for 24 hours and was 2 mins walk away. Room was very nicely appointed. Lovely and quiet. Felt private. Bathroom luxurious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff all very friendly and polite. Local and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served...
