We had an excellent stay at Gran Evenia Bijao. The resort was beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food options were amazing, with plenty of variety and great quality throughout our stay. The evening entertainment shows were also fantastic and added a lot of fun to the experience. We staid at the Grand Evenia for 4 nights. Overall everything was really great. The food was really good for the most part. We found the buffett to be the best. They have a few restaurants you have to make reservations for(Japanese, Medeteranian, and one other type), but they were just OK. The buffet is where they really shined. They had quite a few Panamanian dishes. The pool area is great and relaxing. The beach area is also nice. We had a sliding door that opened but it wasn't a balcony. It would have been nice to have a balcony room. The only issue we had was with hot water working intermittently in the shower, but they came and repaired it. As I said overall the stay was great. There is so much relaxation and value for the money.

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. The food was good, the beach was beautiful, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. There wasn't a lot of evening entertainment, and most activities were geared toward Spanish-speaking guests. However, the resort has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for families with children. The only drawback was the location, as it is about a two-hour drive from Panama City and the airport. Aside from that, everything was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is a great resort for families. The staff is wonderful, helpful, attentive and friendly. The pools, slides and food were great. My kids loved the activities. The pools were spotless and the active lifeguards were a very nice surprise for a parent. I’ve was concerned after I saw so many negative reviews but I think they must be taking the comments seriously because it was an amazing stay.

Check-in was quick and easy. It was helpful that we checked in online and uploaded our passports to make the process faster. The staff at the swim-up pool were inattentive and not friendly. The pool was cloudy. The food was awful!!! The snack bar consisted of cold burgers, nachos with cold chili and cheese from a can, cold pizza, and minimal toppings for a salad. Dinner consisted of a salad bar and some warm options (which were actually cold). The meats were dry and tough. You could barely chew them or cut them with a knife. Breakfast was just as bad. Everything was cold and inedible. I would not stay here again even if someone gave me a free room.

The hotel amenities are great, the problem is that some of the staff is not to friendly. Another thing is with the pool towels, if you give them 2 tickets for 2 towels, why you also have to give your room number and name. Food is not that bad but the problem is that is always cold. The buffet is extremely hot if there is no breeze since they don’t have AC or fan around the room. Also, the AC on the rooms work great during the day but it looks like they adjust the temperature at night and you wake up sweeting. Not bad for the price but a lot of things to improve.

I stayed at the resort last week and overall everything was fine — the place is clean, the service was good, and the food was nice. However, I found one rule quite ridiculous. I was asked to go all the way back upstairs to my room because I was wearing my beach cover-up (those light, transparent clothes you wear over a swimsuit) in the restaurant. I completely understand not allowing people to come in dripping wet or wearing only a bikini, but not being allowed to wear beach clothes at a poolside restaurant makes no sense. It felt unnecessary and inconvenient, especially since the restaurant is basically next to the pool.

The hotel doesn’t have king-size beds, so Expedia’s listing is false advertising. Overall, the hotel was okay, nothing special, but nothing terrible either. The BBQ restaurant was absolutely trash. The Mediterranean restaurant was okay, while the buffet was hit or miss—sometimes good, other times pretty meh. On the positive side, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, even though not many of them spoke any English. Would I go back unfortunately no.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately my experience was quite disappointing. The rooms were not properly cleaned, with noticeable buildup of grime that made the stay uncomfortable. While a few staff members were polite and attentive, the majority of the personnel seemed indifferent. It was difficult to get assistance, and even basic interactions often felt dismissive. The facilities themselves appear to be lacking proper maintenance, which is unfortunate because the property and the beach are actually very beautiful and have great potential. Regarding food and beverages, the meals were good; however, the only place where we were able to consistently get drinks was at the sports bar, which limited the overall experience. I chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday, and sadly, the experience did not meet expectations. At one point, some friends stopped by briefly to greet me on their way back to the city. Despite the fact that we remained in the lobby and even made purchases, we were treated by security in a manner that felt excessive and inappropriate, as if we were doing something wrong. Overall, I did not have a pleasant experience and, regrettably, I do not believe I will be returning.
