This resort is in an ideal place with all rooms having an ocean view. The shipwreck hut bar and restaurant on site is a great bonus. The staff on site were excellent. The rooms and some of the site facilities could so with a bit of an upgrade but overall it was an excellent place to stay and the cost was very reasonable. We would definately stay there again in the future.

The staff were so lovely and the resort was beautiful. In such a great location and it was right on such an amazing beach to swim and snorkel in. The villas were perfect and all the snorkelling equipment, paddle boarding and kayaks were awesome to use. The brekky and restaurant was also so delicious and had a great view. It was such a great resort, I highly recommend!!

We loved our stay, the staff is very friendly, it was nice to have the bar & restaurant right there. The kitchenette is well equipped if you want to cook, including full fridge. The setting is stunning, with fabulous ocean views. We absolutely loved it and will be back!

Everyone is lovely and accommodating. Our flight arrived well before check in time and they made sure our room was cleaned first so we could rest. The linked bar shipwreck has the best service and cocktails we found.

Staff were very welcoming and it felt like you were staying with family. The bar (Shipwreck Hut) was awesome with a lot of hilariously posters dotted all around the walls and ceiling. You were literally right on the beach overlooking the lagoon too. I would definitely recommend the Aroa Beach Side Resort.

The manager and staff at Aro’a were absolutely wonderful. Lisa, the manager went well above and beyond what we expected in terms of service and helpfulness. The room was great, with amazing views. The place was very clean and tidy, both in our room and in the remainder of the resort. The food at The Shipwreck hut was brilliant and we loved seeing the whales playing in the ocean.

If your idea of a great holiday is being at the bar all day and listening to beats at the beach this place would be good for you, but if you are looking for relaxing or an adults only environment go somewhere else. This is best described as a well attended family bar with some accommodation attached. Expect music to play from late morning to 9 pm which can be heard through the rooms even with the doors closed. Its particularly loud when they have a band (several nights a week) - don't expect to be able to watch TV or read a book in your room on those nights loud. A lot of people and families come in for the bar all day everyday which is in the middle of everything. This is a good location to do activities on the west coast and is on the bus route. Snorkeling off the beach is reasonable. There are several food options a short walk away and a grocery store about 10 min walk south on the main road. The food on site is very nice but not always filling, you will need to order early (e.g by 5:30pm as there are often large crowds and long lines to order food at the bar). The rooms have full kitchen through.
