Monterey Pines Inn is very pet-friendly, and the staff were all polite, welcoming, and incredibly nice. Our room was spacious and very clean. The property is a little dated, but for the price, it was a great value. The location is unbeatable—convenient for getting everywhere, and there’s a large shopping mall just a five-minute walk away. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely come back!

Our room was comfortable and clean. Location was ideal, short drive to everything, and amenities worked well. However, the customer service was very bad. They changed our reservation and showed poor accountability. Lacked communication, with us and each other, throughout our entire stay. Every employee we talked to told us something different, and we had to contact them every time they said they’d reach out first. Front desk was very unhelpful when resolving the issues, but Expedia customer service got straight to the point and helped us sort it out.

Checked in at 9pm, to find out that we were apparently given best room/floor priority but elevator was not working. We had a lot of luggage & were tired so we accepted the one room available on bottom floor. - It was an adjoining room where we could hear the guy coughing like he was 3 feet away. It was too late and costly to change hotels. Desk clerk Emmy asked if we were willing to move to the higher floor the next day once elevator was fixed. We accepted but given the hassle of it all, I respectfully requested some financial compensation. She said she would reach out to manager Craig. His bad behavior, is the primary reason for this poor rating. It would have been a terrible one if not for a comfortable bed & kind & compassionate front desk clerks: Emmy & Becca. Here is what I heard from him: “I was up all night dealing with this elevator problem because of people like you…expecting special treatment because you are VIP & complaining because you hear a cough” “No idea when elevator will be fixed and so you should just leave” When I said to pls notify us when elevator is fixed he replied: “No, you are going to stay where you are because of your stated inconvenience to move - & go back to Expedia for compensation. Elevator was fixed the next day & we were not notified or given the initially promised option to move. The manner in which Craig addressed this & spoke to me was unprofessional - Dismissive. Mocking. Demeaning. Hostile. Rude & incredibly offensive. Never again

Our stay was so nice, the room was so cute and unique. Staff was so friendly and helpful. I loved the breakfast each morning.
