Dam on the Allt Ribhein The dam holds the water for the Carbost water treatment works, situated just downstream. Carbost is an odd choice of name for the plant, being a village several miles away. Portnalong is much closer.

Old buildings in Portnalong The building with the red door may well have once been a dwelling. Although in good condition, the buildings appear to be disused.
