“Idiosyncratic to be sure. Initially we were a bit non plussed but over time became very comfortable. The negatives are that there are a lot of stairs (unless you stay in a downstairs room of course) and they are steep and narrow. The bedside lights took a bit of puzzling to figure out how to turn on and off. But we got there in the end. Another idiosyncratic thing was the huge bath in the bedroom (as well as a lovely shower). “Loved this country house hotel. Very charming and close proximity to Chester and its zoo. Only 30 mins away from Manchester Airport so would definitely consider staying here if flying from there. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds. Has its own restaurant but we didn’t eat here as some lovely local places to sample. Staff were very helpful and our room was comfortable and cosy. Would certainly recommend. Breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked and plentiful”

“Clean, fairly quiet motel located on services. so close to food outlets. Staff were friendly and helpful. A little dated and basic but did the job for a cheap family stop over.”
