Después de pasar por manos de los Ulloa, en 1484, paso a propiedad de los condes de Monterrei. En 1895, el duque de Alba vende la fortaleza con sus bienes y otros edificios a D. José Soto, vecino de Palas de Rei, por 27.000 ptas. Por último, después de pertenecer a la familia Moreiras Blanco desde 1912 hasta 1974. Desde entonces y hasta hace unos meses, era propiedad de D.
