Vacations Close To Orange Beach Waterfront Park

Pros: The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and had a microwave and mini fridge. Hotel was peaceful and not noisy. Swimming pool was really nice with a gradual walk-in and was shallow on that end, which was really nice for small children. There was a nice walkway right down to the beach. Lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. Breakfast was great with both hot and cold options (eggs, meat, cereal, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, etc.). Con: There are two elevators and only one was working on the first day. Then on the second day we got trapped in the only working elevator up on the third floor and had to call 911 because the help button and alarm wouldn’t work in the elevator. That was a very unpleasant experience as it was not air conditioned in the elevator, my 5 year old granddaughter was freaking out, and I was just praying that the elevator didn’t drop. Thankfully they got us out of there and later that day both elevators appeared to be working (I took the stairs). I still really like the hotel, just very uncomfortable with the elevators…

My wife and I had a great experience staying at the Sundrift last week. It was our first time visiting the Destin / Fort Walton area of Florida, so we didn’t fully know what to expect, but the location of this hotel was perfect- right on the beach. It was a quieter beach than other hotels / resorts in the area, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet at this particular location. There also was a really good pizza place in between the hotel and beach, so that was convenient for a quick lunch on the beach or sitting by the hotel pool. Other than the location of the hotel, I’d say the other standout aspect of the Sundrift was the staff. Everyone we interacted with there was friendly and helpful. One of the staff members in particular (Anekia) was extremely helpful in accommodating us the first day we arrived, and in the following days of our stay as well. There’s also a very good Italian restaurant and bar on location at the hotel. The bar had a great happy hour, which we enjoyed on a couple of occasions, and the bartender (CJ) was friendly and attentive. As far as our room, it was very clean when we arrived, and the house keeping made sure our room was fully cleaned on a daily basis. It was also very quiet through the night. The only reason I’m giving the room 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a bit of wear and tear, although certainly not significant. There also weren’t many wall hooks in the room and bathroom to hang towels, wet clothes from the beach, etc, although again,

Room was clean except some dead bugs in one of the bathrooms. Sinks and showers didn’t drain well. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. They were great and let us check in early. We arrived really early with 3 month old baby and it was too hot for her so thankfully they worked with us and let us in early.

Enjoyed our stay at Emerald Isle. It’s right by the beach. Not too far from Destin. Management company was on point. There was a mixup with chair service but a quick call and it was corrected. Also the tennis net needed to be replaced and it was done really quick. Place was clean and room temp was good. Beds were comfy. Elevators wait time was not too bad but expected. We would stay there again.

The view is great. The condo is definitely a little dated. But I knew that going in. It was very clean except for the rugs I think could use a good cleaning. Had a great stay and would definitely return.
