The staff was absolutely amazing and made our stay seamless and enjoyable. The location was very conveniently located, and the rooms were super clean. We didn’t get a chance to dine in, but they had a lovely bar and restaurant space just off the lobby.

The hotel is in a great location. The staff is friendly and attentive while some of the rooms may seem a bit small. They are comfortable. The bar was nice and prices were reasonable.

Clean and quiet room (which I had asked for after reading some reviews saying it could be noisy.) Very friendly and helpful staff. Truly enjoyed my stay of 5 nights. Enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant. Outstanding coffee! Would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

Lovely hotel and courteous staff. We had a couple small issues with our room that were handled quickly by the gracious front desk and maintenance team. Derrick at the front desk was especially helpful and we appreciated his hospitality and warm demeanor.

I have stayed at the Shattuck a few times now and it would be difficult to stay anywhere else close to UC Berkeley. It is so well worth it. I feel rested here and well taken care of. I take the BART from the Oakland airport to downtown Berkeley. And when I get off the Hotel is right across the street. The food at the restaurant is amazing. About to book my next stay here in a few months.

Very comfortable bed, slept well. Hotel is in a historic building so the rooms reflect that but are well maintained and nice to spend time in. Great bar downstairs in lobby. We'll located. Overall a nice stay.

Structurally dated but very practical and clean. The hotel is close to campus and BART, with plenty of nearby restaurants and amenities to choose from. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our initial room smelled of cleaning products, which made us uncomfortable. When we mentioned it, the staff immediately accommodated us by changing our room. We have stayed there many times and look forward to returning.

Great location, very nice staff. Unfortunately, some noisy repair work drove us out of the bar. If you’re in Berkeley, it is a very central location.

The room was clean and spacious. The location was good (right in downtown) and the hotel itself was pretty and well maintained. Staff were okay.. we had a couple situations where the staff could have done better: we showed up before check in and gave the front desk our #.. they never called when the room was ready. We also asked for fresh towels and they apparently didn’t have any.
