We really like staying here. It's a bit like going to visit your grandma. The building is breathtakingly beautiful. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are old fashioned, which is in keeping with the era of the hotel. Breakfast is good and the grounds are lovely. My only complaints are that the parking is a bit steep and $4 for a bottle of water is ridiculous!

Location cannot be beat if you want to be near the Berkeley campus. The building is beautiful and historic and there are parties every single weekend. My only complaint was that our bed was quite hard and uncomfortable. So much so that we checked out a day earlier than planned so we could get some sleep!

I absolutely loved the Berkeley City Club and will stay again next time we are going to the Greek Theater. It was about a ten minute walk to the show! The rooms were sunny, bright and clean with very comfy beds.

Staff was really friendly. The facilities were a bit too old and thus not so convenient. Really vintage and good for taking photos tho

Step back in time to the 1920s. Beautiful Gothic and Moorish architecture, indoor pool, small but beautiful rooms without TVs or refrigerators and that's ok! It was quiet, comfortable and within walking distance to the Greek Theater where we saw a concert. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. We will definitely stay again.

I really wanted to visit this hotel when I first discovered it and it did not disappoint! It was so cool to stay in a historical landmark. Learning more about Julia Morgan was so fascinating. She lived a fascinating life. She was one of the first woman to be a licensed architect in California and design 700 buildings including homes! The main attraction for me was the pool. When I heard she had designed Hearst Castle I knew that I just had to swim in Berkeley City Clubs pool! I had such an enjoyable time during my visit!

A very charming stay overall. Our room, being right next to the elevator, could get noisy at times, but the convenience of the location and the property’s character more than made up for it.
