The indoor pool facility was great as were the indoor dining options. This was my second trip staying at the Berkeley City Club and I have no doubt that I will be returning soon.
Gorgeous historic hotel that is impeccably maintained. Fantastic staff. Delicious breakfast. Lovely patio garden to sit and drink tea/coffee. Can’t wait to return.
Step back in time to the 1920s. Beautiful Gothic and Moorish architecture, indoor pool, small but beautiful rooms without TVs or refrigerators and that's ok! It was quiet, comfortable and within walking distance to the Greek Theater where we saw a concert. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. We will definitely stay again.
This is a historic hotel and I relished being able to experience it. The restaurant was like being in a movie. The included buffet breakfast was amazing. The whole hotel made me feel like I was part of history.
I really wanted to visit this hotel when I first discovered it and it did not disappoint! It was so cool to stay in a historical landmark. Learning more about Julia Morgan was so fascinating. She lived a fascinating life. She was one of the first woman to be a licensed architect in California and design 700 buildings including homes! The main attraction for me was the pool. When I heard she had designed Hearst Castle I knew that I just had to swim in Berkeley City Clubs pool! I had such an enjoyable time during my visit!
A very charming stay overall. Our room, being right next to the elevator, could get noisy at times, but the convenience of the location and the property’s character more than made up for it.
Parking was close by, such a wonderful old property with history, lovely areas like library or courtyard to sit. Pool was lovely also met a lot of local members and enjoyed talking with them. Breakfast excellent great start to the day highly recommend

Fabulous historic property just steps from bars, restaurants, etc.
Berkeley City Club is an historic hotel and that means you have to be willing to accept some limitations of an older building, especially as compared to newer hotels. So - smaller rooms, smaller bathrooms, no in-room TV, no air conditioning. If you're ok with that, the Berkeley City Club is otherwise charming, with friendly staff, beautiful architecture and complimentary breakfast - a lot to like!
