“Couldn’t recommend The Tenpus at Charlton Hall more! We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges and had such a lovely relaxing time. We had planned to eat at the Lobster Pot in Bamburgh but lucky for us they were a chef down and couldn’t accommodate us so we ate in the Tempus restaurant which was outstanding.
I didn’t catch our servers name but he was so friendly and made us very welcome. Food was delicious.
Can’t wait to book again… absolutely loved everything about our visit.”

“Disappointing from start, exterior not welcoming and garden neglected.
First time we used the shower the door fell off, reported it to the host who said it’s always doing it. Floor was wet through every time we had a shower.
Asked for poached egg on toast for breakfast and were told she would do the eggs and we had to do the toast but no times given so eggs went cold while waiting for toast.
Small pots of marmalade were not full or sealed. Second morning at breakfast, no milk on the table and...

“Lovely location. Room nice apart from damp smelling dark bathroom. Food ok... starter was very average but mains were nice. Although couldn't be helped the ovens were broken so the choices we made from menu weren't available. Service from staff was poor, not much engagement, very transactional, most were not very friendly. Breakfast was serve your own coffee and tea from a machine.. but latte was barely luke warm so had to have something else. Breakfast very average. Wasn't asked how stay had...

“The staff were very obliging and helpful, always smiling and approchable. Pleasant lovely to my two bichons always took time to fuss them. A large green to walk my dogs.
The premises were clean and tidy.
Parking was excellent 👌.
Breakfast was lovely and tasty, and plenty of it, a good selection.
First time I've used Purdy Lodge, but will certainly use it again.
Very reasonably priced also.
Also looked out onto green fields.
The only thing I could find was the fact that there were no Subtitles...

“What a fabulous friendly place. We came on Friday night when they were having a charity night quiz.
What an amazing atmosphere the people were just so lovely.
We’ll be back again and hopefully join in this time.
The landlady Clair had seen us standing and came over and found us a table. Although we didn’t have tickets for the quiz we felt very much a part of it

“Ideal location-Parking was a bit of a problem when we arrived mid-afternoon but eventually found a spot near the village green. The room was comfortable -although I wouldn't exactly call it a 'seaview' more of a sea glimpse. The breakfast was fabulous, plenty to choose from and served up by Mark-the lovely, friendly host.”
