Vacations Close To Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum

This hotel offers spacious, clean, no luxury rooms. However, the free parking and having a clean microwave and refrigerator and shower water pressure were awesome. It is in the Tenderloin area which was across the street from a rehab hotel/apartment. We didn’t feel comfortable going out walking at night due to the neighborhood. There was a security guard on duty which helped our sense of safety. The WiFi connection was horrible, not advisable if you’re expecting to have a stable connection.

Do not waste your time on this hotel. We were given a room on the First Floor, street level, adjacent to the street/sidewalk that parallels the hotel. With that being said, it was 2 nights of terrible sleep. Not sure what was louder, the kids acting up in the hallway, the stomping around above our heads, or the constant loud drunks and booming stereo systems of the cars and pedestrians as they drove/walked past our window. The cheap soft mattress on the bed didn’t help either. Then there’s the $62 a night charge to park in the hotels (public) garage and the out of date Television that was in the room. You would think that there would be 21st century smart televisions on the wall but NO. So that means, no apps to login to so you can watch something besides the analog blurry stations and local digital signals that kept tweaking out as if being scrambled. If I had to rate this hotel on a scale of 1 to 5, it might get a 2. Will never stay there again.

Our front desk lady was the absolute sweetest! She let us check in earlier because I had a work event at time of check in and we’re from 4 hours away. Super helpful.

Property is right near the water so calming. Airport shuttle is a plus even though it doesn’t run all day. It’s also close to the BART station and the bus runs right on the block.

Wonderful 2 night stay here for Valentine's day. The room was so nice and the jet tub was huge. Very clean. The rest of the property was beautiful. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I left a bag on one of there couches before leaving to go home and didn't realize until we'd gotten to the ferry building. We called to let them know and they shipped it back to us no charge. Great hotel, would stay here again for sure.

Valet Parking is $75 per night.

Staff are excellent, attentive, helpful, kind, caring. Bed was the best I have ever experienced in a hotel and I travel 2 times a month. Wonderful location near busses, near Union Square, and near very reasonable restaurants. Breakfast is very good.
