We are on a cross country road trip and this hotel was surprisingly the most expensive having me as the budgeter not excited for this stop at all. However after the easy check in, super friendly staff, nice little town and amazing rooms we are talking about when to come back. The rooms and location is worth every penny. It’s very clean, welcoming and when you’re inside it feels like you’re in a little cottage not hotel room. Highly recommend this place for anybody passing through and next time I’ll spend two nights here to go see more of the neighboring towns.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The parking is tight. The bathroom is nice with the exception of the wobbly toilet. They forgot to clean the coffee pot and the pillow had hair on it. The mattress also needs a serious upgrade it was horrible! It was touching the bottom.

The room was very clean and comfortable for my wife and I. The only issue was that AC unit blew through wooden window blinds that had to be open to receive air. This allowed open view access to the room all the time. Enjoyed the location with a restaurant right next door.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was very clean, and the entire place looked great—warm, cozy, and well-kept. The Shady Lawn Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's in the heart of Newland, NC, a small town with a cool vibe. Shady Lawn Inn was my home for 10 days because of car trouble. Staff Kara (front desk), Maria (housekeeping) and Ms. Suzzanah (owner) were so gracious and helpful and I felt safe. Room was clean, a bit dark, comfortable bed (king) and the ac cools when needed. Weather was delicious. Waightstills Restaurant steps from my room. Full bar, food variety, try the risoto with chorizo...delish. And a wowing collection of Lego builds made by the other owner Mr. Nathan. The driveway is rough, but hurricane Helene went thru this town hard. Good, kind folks at this place. I was fortunate to land at The Shady Lawn Inn.
