“This was our second visit to the lodges and we weren’t disappointed. Room was spotless, good shower and plenty of sockets. The breakfast to go is a bonus and filling. There’s a lovely courtyard which we used to sit out and have supper. If you want a break from the hustle and bustle of a hectic life this is the place to come and unwind. The host was friendly and gave us suggestions of places to visit. Will definitely go back again.”

“The hotel is old and shows its age. A steep staircase rises to the rooms. There are signs of poor maintenance, stained carpets and a need for redecoration.The beds were clean and comfortable and, lights, TV, WiFi and the hot drinks kettle all worked well. The room was quiet despite being on the street side. The pub stays noisy until late on Saturday night. There are nice cafes nearby for breakfast and the location is central to the town for shops and the delightful Newnt lake park”

“Room was lovely and clean and we had a modern bathroom. Staff were very friendly, food was excellent and service was great. Parking was easy and cheap (6 pounds I think) and the property is gorgeous. We had a room upstairs which was fantastic, our friends had one down the corridor which was different and not as nice. The only thing was the bed - it was extremely hard and impacted our ability to sleep well. If there was a topper or a different mattress I would stay again in a pinch, or just stay...
