“Initial impression- good. Car park all gravel but plenty of parking. Reception - water on offer but it was empty. Were told our booking didn’t include breakfast but included 20% off food and soft drinks. Nice because we had forgotten. No information on where restaurant or bars not a big problem but it is nice to be told. We booked a table for dinner. Was given our room key. We asked if it was possible to walk along the river from the back of the restaurant… no access it is only from the other...

“Room was comfy, nicely furnished. Tea and coffee and biscuits were top quality. Bathroom clean, everything clean really. But having paid a relatively premium price for bed and breakfast, only to find a limited smaller choice included (with every extra costing more) we found it disappointing. That's not made clear at time of ordering. I mean, how expensive is it to include cereals etc? BUT the rooms are lovely and staff friendly. A bit odd it took more than 10 minutes wait to be given our key, 30...

“Great stay”

“The room was a good size and pretty clean. Usual amenities were provided. The reception was tiny and the receptionist seemed more focussed on her phone than greeting guests. I appreciate though it was very quiet and the reception area is a great environment to work on. The internal areas are very tired (not to mention the outside) and it’s not the most welcoming of places sadly.”
