Staff in the hotel were fantastic, really helpful even under pressure. It was horribly hot the weekend that we were there (unusual for Cardiff) but they did everything possible to make us comfortable with fans (no air-conditioning).”

“We booked four nights but checked out after the first night due to a lack of sleep. While the hotel has potential with its great location, comfortable mattresses, and updated bathroom fixtures, the overall experience did not match the price point.
Potential guests should note a few important factors before booking:
1) Room Comfort: The room has basic, budget-style furnishings. There was no towel rack, only one towel was provided, and the pillows were uncomfortable. The hot water pot was placed...

“As I find stairs difficult with luggage, and no lift, staff were helpful and changed my room from 1st floor to ground. Staff were pleasant but bar service could be improved. The waiter was covering the kitchen and bar. He walked past me twice, while I stood at the bar, but I still had to open the door to the kitchen, and call, I had to ask for ice and lemon, but didn't get the lemon, it didn't seem available. Just small things really but could be improved. ”

“Rooms ok, although avoid 201 we asked to be moved as only a skylight no opening windows and no AC. Ended up in 208 over looking the road.
Tables in bar and restaurant were sticky as were the floors in both.
Breakfast at £12.50 was OK, didn't rate the sausages, everything else was OK..
Staff were very friendly and helpful, quick and easy change of room.”
