There is a small car park which was a bonus on the coast and the room had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. We had an evening meal and breakfast, good quality food and helpful staff.”

“While the stay was just ok, I was disappointed with the support from the hotel team in getting good wifi in room 20. The mobile network was patchy in this place, and on top of that, the wifi in the room was on and off. It disrupted my planned work. Reporting this to the staff did not help. This place would be my last choice next time.”

There were lots of little touches that added to our good experience-including welcome bags for each dog and more than adequate continental breakfast. We would highly recommend a d stay again. “Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.”

“What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles...
