Vacations Close To Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base

This is a cute little property in the heart of Hollywood. There’s a great market up the street and a Trader Joe’s a half a block away and lots of other restaurants and shops. Also very close to Metro. Property is decently maintained and very quiet. Bed was decent. Sheets and towels were decent. There’s no live, in person front desk. It’s all remote via a screen. So that’s odd but not horrible. There are actual housekeepers and the 2 I met were very nice. Bathroom was decent size. Shower was good. So why only 3 stars?? The 2 things that made my otherwise nice stay uncomfortable were: 1) there is one and only one light source in the room. It’s a horrible, garish, bright white - the brightest, coldest white you can think of. Like, psycho hospital white. Yeah, like that. It’s an overhead light. No problem, you think I will just turn on a wall sconce or a bed lamp. But you can’t. Because there aren’t any. This is the one and only light in the room. I either had the bathroom light on and the door ajar or used the light from the Tv. I kept the overhead light off the entire time. The bathroom light is also bright white but less so. Apparently whoever buys the lightbulbs for this place doesn’t know there was a a “soft white” option for indoor lighting. And 2). The curtains- while they were blackout, they were the wrong size for the window. The barely covered the height of the windows. So there was bleed and the didn’t close in the center. These 2 issues were significant.

Clean property

Room feels like you are at home. Party vibes around the hotel. Have valet parking and self parking for a fee.

Very pleasantly surprised! Worried about thr area but it's actually part of a big casino so it was well lit and security everywhere. It smelled like there was new carpet and very clean. Beds were firm but comfortable. The breakfast was the most eclectic breakfast I've ever seen but it was good. We had the normal eggs, Canadian bacon, waffles snd pastries but ALSO had spaghetti, Mac and cheese, waffle fries, chicken nuggets, boiled veggies. It was wild! But overall a great experience

Extremely small, outdated, bathroom towels are the size of a hand towel. Not comfortable

Excellent service from all the staff that we interacted with from the valet, bellman and room attendants. Easy check in and out. Great location.
