“The hotels.com site states there is a reataurant at the location, there is but only open until 1500hrs, so that was a big issue as delivery was the next choice, pizza, indian etc not a great option and a minimium of £30 to get a delivery, a pain on your own. I then had an issue closing the room window as that neess maintenance, the tv controls were next, there were none and the great staff had to find a spare set. The staff were great and the pub nice, accomodation was tired and not in walking...

“Extremely disappointing stay and nowhere near the standard expected for a superior room. We had booked a twin room but were initially given a double. When we were eventually moved to the twin room we had actually booked, the condition of it was unacceptable. There was hair across the bathroom, stained bedding, significant dust throughout the room and heavy dirt and buildup around the extractor fan and light fittings. “The Railway Inn is a small hotel, over a pub that closes reasonably early and literally next to the train lines. The barkeep is also the hotel staff and the breakfast cook. She is terrific and lively. My room was on the second floor - spacious with two excellent twin beds, comfortable bedding and kettle, cookies, etc. They would like entry by 22.00 which I did not see in the ad, so I arrived later and she directed me to reach my room, which she had left open. The breakfast is cooked to order...

“Hotel agradable con un pub de buena cocina (aunque no barato). La habitación es muy cómoda y está en buen estado, el baño también muy limpio y nuevo. Insonorización mala respecto a la habitación de al lado pero lo normal en hoteles de éste tipo. “We were looking for an overnight stop travelling back North from Southampton and came across here. There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...
