Vacations Close To Lincoln Woods State Park

TV was old and had static on the screen. The room was clean. The pillows were uncomfortable and cheap (very flat and not at all comfortable) airport economy pillows are more comfortable — which is saying something but besides that it’s great.

The property was wonderful. Also our suite was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, sheets and towels were plentiful and smelled lovely. The air conditioning worked very well. All needed coffee and cream supplies were plentiful. The location is ideal, as we didn't have a car but could easily walk to breakfast and lunch places, a beautiful park, and a Whole Foods. We Even had a fancy dinner at the George on Washington Street, took LIFT there, but it was a lovely evening so walked back, only a bit over a mile!

Room was clean. Housekeeping staff were great. Bed was very comfortable. Bathtub had been updated w/new faucet and shower head...poorly finished; really sloppy. Tub has a slight slope from side to middle I presume to direct water but it makes standing a bit unsure as there is not a flat surfact to stand on. No non-slip surace or mat. Not comfortable because of that. Safety bar was installed on the back wall of the shower which was a bit of a stretch to reach, but more importantly, if you were holding on to the bar for safety there wasn't enough water pressure for the new shower head to reach my standing body. I'm not sure I would stay there again. Although I understand it's Newport...it was pricey for condition.

The establishment was not amenable to people with mobility problems. There were some inside doors that would have been difficult if not impossible to open. At one point, I was struggling to get my sister into a wheelchair while two strong, healthy security guards, not two feet away from us, stood around talking. I finally had to ask for their assistance. The room had no table and only one chair. We had to take our scrabble game into the lobby in order to play. There were no drawers, so we had to leave our clothes in our suitcases. The trash cans had no plastic bags in them. I felt bad for our maid who had to deal with some unpleasant deposits. It was difficult to sleep because I was unable to close the shade. It was only when I mentioned it to the maid that she told me there was a button somewhere that would lower it. It would have been nice to know that before I had 2 sleepless nights. The plastic glasses were not wrapped in sanitary plastic. I couldn't believe that the handicapped accessible room was at the furthest end of the hall, rather than near the elevator. The exit from the parking lot was not even marked. No Sign!! I finally had to go back into the building to ask where it was. All this time, my sister was waiting at the curb with her walker.
