Vacations Close To Laurel Park Place

Easy. CHeck in and out. Hotel and room clean location convenient for where we were going. Wish complementary coffee was provided. Room didn’t have face towels. Pretty sure would have been easy to get but I brought my own for my one night stay.

Their check-in process is a joke. Parked in self-parking to discover the elevators in the parking structure were out of order. Signage was not helpful in directing me where to enter for the hotel. Found a door that led into the casino where I was greeted by security guards who required a photo ID in order to enter the premises. Again, signage is not very well placed to help you determine the path to the hotel check in desk. After pulling my suitcase thru the casino for 10 minutes I came to another security check point and had to ask where the check in desk was located. With not much entusiasm, the security guard pointed down a hallway. Finally, made it to the check-in desk after a 10 mintue stroll thru the casino between 3:30 and 4:00 pm. The person at the desk asked for my ID and credit card and stated that they did not have a room yet ready for my check-in. She asked me for my cell number and said that I would receive a text when the room was available and I could come back to the desk to finalize my check-in. So, I went back towards the casino and had to show ID again to enter the area. Went to the sports bar and ordered a beer. After another 90 minutes of waiting and not receiving a text message, I went back to the check-in desk and got the same clerk. I told her it was well past their check-in time of 4:00 pm and that I needed to get in to a room so I could change clothes to attend an event. She checked and said that the room was ready, No apology for the del

10 minute walk from the stadiums. A ton of free parking spaces and the garage exist right at the highway entrance. Very convenient.

The Foundation is a lovely historic hotel in downtown Detroit with modern amenities and beautiful furnishings. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated (with a wonderful cozy robe!), the restaurant/bar is lively and the gym is large with a full range of equipment, including Peloton bikes. I will definitely stay there again!
