Great place with nice rooms and beautiful view (both to Mt Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu). Standard Malaysian breakfast and decent lunch and dinner menu. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room (104) was very good although there are a few ants around (so make sure not to leave food around). Bed, shower and toilet were nice and clean. Internet worked quite well (not guaranteed in this area). Our best place in Sabah so far (out of 6 good hotels).

Schönes Hotel auf 1200m Höhe

Insgesamt hat mir der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen, was nicht zuletzt am engagierten Team des Hotels lag. Der Ausblick auf Kota Kinabalu ist phänomenal! Die Lage inmitten von dschungelartiger Landschaft wirkt sehr entspannend; Vögel, Insekten und andere Tiere geben ihr Konzert je nach Tageszeit. Und die Höhenlage bedeutet 6 Grad Celsius weniger Temperatur als in der City. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und frisch. Ab und zu gibt es ein Buffet am Morgen. Nachteil der Lage: man muss die Taxipreise in Kauf nehmen. Man fährt etwa 45 Minuten von der City her. Das Hotel nimmt 40 Rm für hin -und zurück. Aber dennoch ist die schöne und ruhige Lage auf dem Berg meiner Meinung nach den Aufpreis wert. Und Veranstalter aus der Stadt holen einen auch ab; ohne Mehrkosten.

Cleanliness of the place is rather organic. We have experienced blackout in the middle of the night and toilet was blocked on the 2nd morning. Weather and restaurant food were the best but do not expect high hopes on the room.

The view was breathtaking. But when we arrived the hotel, the receptionist wasn't as helpful that we have to ask where our rooms are.

Not for westerners

this is NOT a health resort , there is NO spa or even Massage , there are bugs and lots of them , there is no AC and it is hot. Unless you are with a group or conference then there is literally NOTHING to do here . The staff were polite ,the food was fair at best.

We arrive at 11am and the receptionist allowed us to check in. The room is spacious with balcony. The view from balcony is very nice. Breakfast was good. Love the hotel ambience.

올해 벌써 두번째 갔는데 서비스가 엉망이네요.

예약을 미리 해놓고 갔으나 호텔쪽 실수로 예약이 안되어 있었음. 체크인만 40분 소요. 호텔에 손님도 없었는데도 불구하고 예약한 레벨에서도 가장 안좋은 방을 주었음.

Great up and away in the mountains

Really nice hotel up in the mountains with amazing views to chill and relax. Staff was amazingly friendly, with a lot of healthy choices on the menu. We definitely enjoyed the stay away from the city.

Nice hotel in the hills, excellent views

It is a clean tidy place with very attentive staff. The food was good and the rooms were comfortable. We used it as a base for our two week stay in Sabah and really enjoyed our stay there. The drive up and down the hill is interesting. It is a windy road and you have to watch out for the local water buffalo's (which are nowhere near as aggressive as the ones in Australia). Kota Kinabalu is a good launching point for all sorts of activities. We were able to see Orangutan's at a reserve about an hour NE of the city. We were also able to do a River Trip (about 2 hours) SW of the city on which we were able to see three types of money (including the Proboscis monkey) and after dark, firefly's. The snorkeling around the nearby islands is something else. Having swum at both Ningaloo and the Great Barrier Reef, we were very impressed with the range of fish and corals we were able to see. The markets were interesting with a good range of local products available.

도심에서 좀 멀긴 하지만 풍경이 너무 좋아서 다음에도 또 가고 싶어요

풍경도 좋고 시설도 깨끗해서 맘에 듭니다. 나방이 많이서 벌레 싫어하시는분들은 무서울꺼예요 저도 그랬어요 그래도 그만큼의 좋은점이 충분하기에 다음 코타키나발루에 간다며 또 가고싶은 곳이예요^^

Fantastic View

Great experience with KK City View and Sea View.. Especially you could enjoy the sunset at the balcony. If is a special day you could enjoy the whole KK City firework view from the balcony. The food offer at cloud 9 restaurant is not up to my expectation. Overall is still a recommended place to relax out of the city.

Mountain getaway

We only had one night here on our way to Palawan, but what a fantastic find. A good distance out of KK waaaay up in the mountains. Slightly quirky, but the staff were friendly, helpful and everything you'd want in hotel staff. The views in the morning were breathtaking. Just one minor gripe - all the bar sold was beer - so no wine or spirits. That could do with being looked at. Overall - extremely pleased and satisfied with our stay. We'll be back!
