Although not a resort or on the beach. Kura Botanica is in a prime location. You’re in Kura Hulanda village in downtown Otrabanda, Tons of restaurants, a gelato shop next door, bars, art, shops and a museum nearby. Meters away from Queen Emma’s bridge, Riff Fort. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was a nice spot to relax and there a bar by the pool area. We paid for the breakfast and are glad we did. The breakfast area is located at the Freedom cafe which is like 4/5min walk away (not hard to find you can also use google map). For breakfast they had: scrambled and boiled eggs you could also request an omelette, fruits, oatmeal, breads, croissants, sausage, pastries, cereal, coffee, tea, juice… there was something for everyone You can walk across the floating pontoon bridge to get to Punda right across the water or take the ferry when the bridge is closed, there are also many stores as well as crafts shop located in that area. Plasa Bieu is a must go for truly local cuisine in Punda but make sure to go early. It’s the perfect location if you don’t plan on renting a car. And if you do rent a car opt for a compact, the streets are narrow.

If you like air conditioning, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! Our room felt around 85°F throughout our stay. We traveled with two other couples, and one couple switched rooms only to find the same problem. When we complained at the front desk, we were given a $10 fan. An employee told us the air conditioning throughout the hotel was basically broken, which certainly seemed to be the case. The employee also said the hotel had done nothing to fix the problem or acknowledge it. The casino was unbearably hot, too. Service made the stay even worse. Many employees were so rude and seemed annoyed that guests were there. God forbid you asked a question! They were some of the rudest people I’ve ever met. The bars repeatedly ran out of basics like cups, ice, mint for mojitos, and even beer. How does an all-inclusive resort run out of beer—or freaking ice? Once something ran out, it wasn’t available again that day. Between the heat, poor service, and lack of basic supplies, this was a miserable experience. I would never stay at this resort again.

If you are considering staying here, I strongly recommend reading the recent reviews carefully before making your decision. In my experience, this property was not worth the money, and I would have been better off staying across the street at Zoëtry, even though both properties are under Hyatt. My husband and I originally stayed at Dreams in May 2026, but our experience was so bad that we ended up staying only one night. Afterward, the property asked us not to leave a review and instead invited us to return so they could make things right. We trusted them and returned in September 2026, during my husband's birthday weekend. Unfortunately, the second experience was even worse. During our three-night stay, our room was changed three times — from Room 521, to Room 401, and finally to Room 26. The rooms were hot and had multiple issues, including no working phone access and no remote to watch television. We also had a butler assigned to assist us, but our messages were not answered. When we brought these problems to the property's attention, we were offered a massage and a room upgrade. Unfortunately, the upgraded bungalow was actually worse. It smelled like a portable restroom/port-a-potty and was also extremely hot. We repeatedly tried to get management involved, but we were told management was unavailable to assist us. This was especially disappointing because we had specifically returned to the property based on their promise that they would make our previous experience.

Wonderfully restored historic building. Room was large and bed super comfy, would definitely stay there again.
