“This motel is located in a quiet town north of Christchurch. Although it is close to the highway, we were not affected by any noise. The bed and lounge were comfortable and the two bedroom “apartment” we booked was very spacious. The kitchenette had all the basic equipment we would expect in a kitchenette, which allowed us to cook a meal. There is a 4 Square supermarket within easy walking distance. We were happy with our choice, spending one night here.”

“When we saw the room was disappointing. In the description it said it has heating, but the only thing it had was a little heat fan. We probably wouldn't have taken that room (or hotel) if we had known it. By the way, our bathroom had a water leak (or it seemed it), but when we arrived at night we found a cockroach in the room and we asked for to change the room. Finally, they found that a pipe was broken. One last thing, the description said "free wifi" and it's true, but only 500MB. Nowadays...

“Great location. Just across the road for a GREAT view of the bay and mountain. Electic blanket is nice. And now the NEGATIVE: the perfect place to understand why people are moving to private accomodation. Dirty (yet they put the sign they will charge you 25 USD if you leave dirty dishes, and most of the cups are filthy) , run down furniture/equipment/matress (big need of an upgrade/refurbishment), tiny shower, NO sense of hospitality what so ever (cleaning fee, no flexibility on check out time...

“The location was ideal for completing the Kaikoura Península Walk, as it is located on the loop. It is a quiet location, a few minutes drive from the town center. The room was clean and comfortable with a small kitchen.”

“The place was great! Maybe not for everyone but perfect for anyone with kids or just looking for something a little different. We are seniors but have done a lot of camping and this was glamping at its best. We picked the yurt which had an outdoor kitchen and an external bathroom. Everything felt really authentic yet still very modern. It all was just there as one would expect from a nice hotel but presented in a different way. Kind of a cowboy camp or depression era type of a kitchen outside...
