Situated just off the high street with secure on site parking, and within walking distance of various eating establishments. Website is easy to use, and informative, covers everything you need to know about the property and local area. Jamie & Gary are fabulous hosts. Highly recommend this establishment.”

“The cooked breakfast was very good but the coffee was weak. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was motel style with guest access at the back of the property and lead out onto a road where you take a path between houses to get round to the front of the building and the car park. The owners did let us take a short cut through the pub upon check-in and check-out. The bed was comfortable and the water was hot but there was mould on the bathtub tiles and on the curtains in the bathroom...

“I called a few days ahead of our stay to let them Know that my daughter was celebrating her 16th birthday on that day and if they could do anything special for this. They said they couldn’t as they only provide champagne for adults and they are very busy so won’t have time. I suggested maybe a small card and a few chocolates just as a welcome gesture. He sighed and seemed annoyed I had pushed the point. When we arrived I noticed the carpets in bedrooms were very obviously stained and worn out....

“The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. “What an utter disappointment. I paid £275 to stay here. The room was not good at all - bathroom worse. The receptionist appeared to have an issue with the fact I’d booked via Expedia. Never had this before. Was forced to provide credit card details - because I’d booked through Expedia?… she proceeded to write my card details down and upon departure refused to show me she’d destroyed them… didn’t mention the pool. When I enquired about it I was told there was one slot available for me to swim...
