Vacations Close To Hippie Hollow

Hotel was in a great area - very easy to get around. Breakfast was sufficient for continental. We didn’t eat at the attached restaurant, but heard good things and it’s convenient that it’s on property. Beds were very small (my fault for not noting that they were doubles) and the bathroom was a little odd - toilet and shower were very low to the ground. It was also a little noisy at night. Not sure I would stay again, but it was a fine hotel.

Hotel Van Zandt was great! All aspects of the hotel are fantastic. The cafe was a great spot in the morning for coffee and breakfast tacos. The bar was lively in the evenings. The restaurant was good. The pool was really nice and the gym was better than most hotels. My room was also very nice. Will stay again for sure.

The hotel is very nice, clean and conveniently located in Austin. Biggest reason I only gave three stars was the pool and the pool bar hours/prices. The pool was a major deciding factor that we decided to stay here for four nights. Went out to have a drink the first evening only to learn the pool bar closes daily at 5. But on Wed-Sat they have a secondary pool area bar that is open from 5-11. Our last night we were looking forward to taking advantage of the advertised “happy hour” at the pool from 5-6. However it was booked for a private event. So there were no evening drinks at the pool on any of the days we stayed there. Would have been nice to have know that going in. Additionally one frozen drink and a single beer for my wife and myself was 54$. That was a single margarita and an ultra. Pretty steep prices…probably better the bar closed early😂

Paid for breakfast to be included throughout our stay in advance with expedia but was disallowed by the front desk. No help to resolve the issue.

It was really luxurious...

We booked a 2 bedroom condo here for my daughter’s college graduation 4 months prior. I had my elderly parents with me driving 8 hours. 2 hours before arriving they called to tell me they were overbooked. They had found an alternative stay for me which charged me $65 a night for parking, had 2 separate rooms with no kitchen or living safe. And to top it off, we did not receive any type of refund!!!!!! Visitors BEWARE!! You may be kicked out right before you’re stay!!

Loved the location! Convenient to city center and walkable along river trails. The suite was spacious and well maintained. Gym was a bit small but while Austin, exercise outdoors!
