“Lovely homely pub and restaurant - and very popular when we visited! Lots of character, open fires and original features make it your ideal, traditional hostlery. Our room was lovely - again, characterful, roomy, and comfortable. Bathroom was modern and clean, bed was fine too. Included a small fridge so we could put a punnet of strawbs we'd purchased at a nearby farm shop to keep fresh. We had our evening meal and breakfast in the main area of the pub, sitting on a lovely bay window seat. ...

“Friendly staff who couldn’t have been more attentive, even if they were in the middle of doing something, they’d stop to check you in or take your order. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and location is stunning.”

I stayed on one of the hottest days of the year, so the air conditioning was put to very good use and meant that I slept much more soundly. I appreciated that breakfast was included with the room, the selection of food was great--I appreciated the strong coffee! There was plenty of parking available as well.”
