“Helpful staff and very handy having the small kitchen. Great location but the area was loud and the guests upstairs were very noisy. We could hear everything. Parking permit provided which was handy for the on street parking. Overall good.”

“Very friendly staff, clean and tidy. Good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Probably the best one we have stayed in in Scarborough and we have stayed in quite a few! Unfortunately unable to access the restaurant for dinner as fully booked, but breakfast was delicious and well presented. Will definitely return.”

“We stayed over for the concert at the open air. The hotel was clean and well maintained- all the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was clean. The bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was perfect. The en-suite was very small but clean. The only thing that would have meant full star rating would have been a better parking arrangement, - a quality mattress and blackout curtains. That being said we would definitely stay here again.”

“The hotel was reasonable but def not worth the £311 we paid for a night! I appreciate the concert being on drove the price up but was def not worth anything like that price. The room was fairly big but old and dated. The bathroom was again massive but quite dated also. There were some marks on the carpet that looked like burn marks and again for the price should not be there. The staff were great, could not fault them. We didn’t get to use the spa so can’t comment on that and the breakfast was...

“We use the grand hotel every year and have done for 17 years now. The last couple years it's got more strict and not really family friendly. Room had a window but not allowed to have it open and the temperature was extremely hot. We ordered food (takeaway) and got told we had to eat this in our room. I tried to explain how hot the room was and no where to eat this except sitting on the bed. They didn't seem to care. I asked for 2 extra pillows and a extra fan just to try and circulate some air....

“One night stay for a visit to Open Air Theatre. The Clifton was well located and although we couldn't get a space in the car park we were given a on street permit to use. Room was a small double, was ok for our needs.”

“The bedroom & en suite were very tastefully decorated, with the decor exactly to our taste! The Bella Rose coffee shop was used throughout our stay & the staff were very welcoming & accommodating. The 15% discount was used each time we ate there which was a bonus as thought it might be a one-off. Peasholm Park on the doorstep was a huge plus too! My only criticism of our stay was that I made the owners aware that I was allergic to fur & feathers beforehand & I particularly queried any cushions...
