“A lovely bright hotel and our family room was spacious and welcoming. The only criticism is that the mattresses on the sofa chairs are very worn and thin and don’t feel comfortable. We all enjoyed both our dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast. A lovely stay and helpful and friendly staff.”

“I recently stayed at the Old Abbey House Hotel in Abingdon and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, with a modern yet characterful feel, and the location is excellent for exploring the town. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected our stay. “The food was very good and staff great. Grace was a wonderful server. The inn is certainly olde and genuine. Not a pretend olde . Rooms are very unusual with individual names. All are separate from the pub. Obviously the pub is the main venue for the local population. The room was modest size but had two TVs. The shower floods the bathroom. Not a big deal.”
