Vacations Close To Grand Hotel

I was disappointed with my experience overall. Before arriving, I emailed about early check-in and transportation but never received a response, so I had to call. The staff member I spoke with was rude, which already had me questioning my stay. When I arrived, the front desk wasn’t very welcoming. I asked if my daughter and I could leave our bags until check-in, and it felt like I was inconveniencing them. I left and came back around 3 p.m. Thankfully, Sandra at the front desk completely changed my experience. She was kind, attentive, and when I asked if I could grab my carry-on for my charger, she checked my room, saw it was ready, and gave me my key. I shared my earlier frustrations with her, and she was genuinely caring. Sandra deserves recognition for her excellent customer service. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, and my room wasn’t as clean as I expected. The biggest positives were the convenient location near the mall, grocery stores, and restaurants, and the shuttle drivers, who were also very friendly.

The staff was wonderful. Very accommodating and friendly. My husband is 90 so we were really not able to enjoy all of the amenities. Some higher lounge chairs would have been helpful as well as a walkway to the beach which really isn’t accessible to people with balance issues or disabilities. I would recommend it highly for families and younger grandparents who want to treat their kids and grandkids to a great vacation.

The hotel was recently renovated and very clean and had boutique feels. The marina view was great for the sunrise on the patio. Unfortunately the check-in time is later than I prefer so I felt rushed getting to a wedding across the street but I would definitely recommend staying there.

The hall to our room was dirty, bags of trash across my penthouse front door and chairs as if it was a alley where people hung out not to mention a dark light lighting the hallway to our room - didn’t feel safe especially with a roof entry door in same hallway - I’m assuming that light is dark due to turtles but perhaps tinting the window is better that making the hall dark thus feeling unsafe to to send wife alone to the room specifically in the night time - mind you I did report it to the front desk and they were very apologetic and showed concern but the first impression was still a negative one

All in all, we had a great stay! the location of the property is perfect and the beach was so nice. The staff was very kind and helpful (contrary to their sister property next door)! We especially loved the lady who does breakfast and coffee in the morning by the front desk, she definitely put a smile on everyone's face! We tried 3 of the restaurants onsite (RumFish Grill, the pizzeria at the other property and Gulfside Kitchen) and the food and service were really good too! The hotel itself needs a little love, it is not in the best shape, but it was ok. The pools were nice, except the one in the kids area with the pirate ship; it was pretty "cloudy" so we did not get in! Our room was comfortable and we liked the configuration, it was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens since we had a lot of space and separated areas. It would be nice if there was added security or supervision on site so rules were respected. There was ALOT of people smoking weed and cigarette around the pool and public areas, which was annoying.
