Vacations Close To Everglades National Park

Ok the fact we had no desk for check was terrible. I could not check in due to a code for door and room acess never being sent to my email resulted in me not checking for 3hours until I was told about a sister property 3 blocks from where I was stay had to walk in the rain to the siater property for thwm to grant me acess codes to get into my room now at 3am. I wouls likw to be reemburst for that night and day. My TV had no working batteries and once I go batteries the TV volum did not work.

Everything was so clean

The property is great. The location is perfect. The room was outstanding. Checkin is an absolute nightmare!!! Took us an hour from arrival to get our room. It's all done online, nobody to greet you. I saw one person in 4 days on the property. Requested fresh towels sent a text message had to send it again 8 hours later. Finally, got our towels.

I never leave negative reviews, but after this experience I believe future guests should know how this hotel handles serious issues. My parents, both in their 80s, stayed at Boulan South Beach for 10 days. From the beginning, they faced multiple problems: a refrigerator that did not work properly and caused groceries to spoil, a broken safe, an uncomfortable sofa bed unsuitable for an adult, repeated maintenance visits, and eventually a room change after days of frustration. The most disappointing part was not only the issues themselves, but how the hotel handled the situation afterward. Reservations Team acknowledged the problems and confirmed in writing that management had decided to waive the resort fees as gesture of goodwill. However, at checkout, only two days of resort fees were credited. When we asked for clarification, we received conflicting explanations and after several follow-up emails, the hotel confirmed receipt and said the matter had been forwarded to management. Unfortunately, despite additional polite follow-ups, no one responded, not even Hotel Manager Kay Ann that was in copy. Problems can happen at any hotel. What defines a property is how it responds when guests are affected. In this case, Boulan South Beach failed to follow through on a written commitment and failed to provide proper communication afterward. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel to travelers looking for reliable service, accountability, and guest support.
