Vacations Close To Raymond James Stadium

Very clean, staff was wonderful. Great location. Good breakfast.The only negative thing I would say is that if hanging out at the pool, especially with kids, is a priority, I don’t think this hotel would be ideal. It is a tiny pool, max capacity is 12 and that would be very crowded. Super slick decking material too. Very pretty and clean though. But the hotel was perfect for us. Easy drive to the beach, the airport and the stadium. Lots of convenience stores, restaurants and close Walmart. Room was spotless and so were all the common areas. No issues at all. Let us check in early and kept the pool open a bit later for us one evening. Highly recommend!

I was disappointed with my experience overall. Before arriving, I emailed about early check-in and transportation but never received a response, so I had to call. The staff member I spoke with was rude, which already had me questioning my stay. When I arrived, the front desk wasn’t very welcoming. I asked if my daughter and I could leave our bags until check-in, and it felt like I was inconveniencing them. I left and came back around 3 p.m. Thankfully, Sandra at the front desk completely changed my experience. She was kind, attentive, and when I asked if I could grab my carry-on for my charger, she checked my room, saw it was ready, and gave me my key. I shared my earlier frustrations with her, and she was genuinely caring. Sandra deserves recognition for her excellent customer service. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, and my room wasn’t as clean as I expected. The biggest positives were the convenient location near the mall, grocery stores, and restaurants, and the shuttle drivers, who were also very friendly.

Beware. When we arrived late at night, the hotel had already checked someone else into the room reserved under my name. No one informed us of any issue at check-in. When I tried to enter the room, the door wouldn't open because the security latch was engaged from inside. Thankfully, I was with my husband. At the front desk, the clerk showed little concern and casually explained that someone with the same last name had been checked in under my reservation. I repeatedly told him that I didn't know that person, but he remained focused on trying to unlock the room instead of addressing the obvious safety issue. Even after I kept saying someone was inside, he seemed to ignore my concerns and discussed the situation with maintenance. We were then sent back to the room, where the maintenance employee knocked, and the person inside answered. The entire situation was alarming. Had I been alone, I could have unknowingly walked into an occupied room, creating a potentially dangerous situation. I requested a full refund and left immediately. The next day, the manager called and referred to the incident as a "minor hiccup." A guest being assigned an occupied room is not a minor mistake—it's a serious safety concern. The lack of urgency, accountability, and professionalism made this an unacceptable experience.

My room smelled like dirty dogs were allowed in the room. All the upholstery was dingy and smelled like dogs. Fortunately the bed and the bedding were clean. The lobby was poorly decorated and requires an upgrade and the dining area looked like a school cafeteria. I was shocked that Marriot allowed their name to be affiliated with this establishment. I slept with my mask on because of the smell. No other rooms were available.

Never stay there again. Shady crowd outside too
