“The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. “We didn't know where to pick up the keys at 1600hrs the bar was late opening, we was also waiting at the wrong Nook bar. Lack of information on where to wait. The bed was very comfortable, the sound of the river over the rocks, sent us to sleep. The bar was good, good selection of ales. Also we didn't have the breakfast, we thought it was expensive at £14 each. Location very hand for everything.”
