Lodges en Embleton

“I've stayed at the Trout a number of times, it is a pretty, well maintained hotel with lots of character and ideally placed to explore Cockermouth, the Western Lakes and the national park. The food is good and the staff are professional and very friendly.”

“We could not fault this small hotel - top marks!”

“The breakfast buffet was excellent although the hot buffet would benefit from closed containers as the food soon became cold from the open ones. The rooms were well heated and ventilated. All the staff were excellent and very dog friendly. My only complaint was although I had asked for a ground floor room due to problems with my knees this was not available and I had to manage the stairs which was difficult. On the whole à very pleasant break”

“The staff were friendly. The room clean and the bed comfortable although the furnishings were old and past their best we felt. The main radiator was not working but a replacement small convector heater had been provided. There was a shower over the large bath. The car park was small and to the rear of the hotel with room for about five cars. Difficult to manoeuvre in and out. We had a pleasant stay undoubtedy the highlight af which was the generous breakfast and friendly efficient service.”

“The the property and gardens, of course are phenomenal. This is an older. estate property so some issues can be expected with the conditions of the finishes. Unfortunately, with us being seniors, it was very difficult for us to get our luggage to the third floor by stairs. The size of the rooms are also quite small but clean. Furniture in the room was appropriate for the period and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in trying to resolve outside issues such as Parking in town which is not...
