“Was very disappointed with the cleanliness of not just the hotel but the pub attached also. The toilets in the pub were disgusting, with no hand soap the whole 4 days of our stay. The whole place looked very worn & tired. I have know idea how on earth it’s classed as 4 stars as I would say it’s 2 at the most. How any one can rate it excellent is beyond me as it’s not even a great location! Will definitely not stay here again or consider using a Marstons inn again.”

“Great location for Saltburn & Whitby, lovely, quiet village. Sunday lunch was delicious, big portions, very good value for money. Would highly recommend. The room was clean & very comfortable with fantastic views. The bed was very comfy too. The staff were all very friendly and attentative. Will definitely visit again. ”

“We arrived at the hotel to find that the sea view room, for which we paid extra and was assigned to us, had scaffolding outside the window, obscuring the sea view. There was nothing in the description on which our booking was based that said anything about a view with scaffolding. They said we had been notified of that after our booking but we received nothing. The scaffolding had been on the facility when we booked in February (we stayed in September) and had apparently been on the hotel for...
