“Did not appreciate a separate bathroom from our bedroom. We booked 12 months in advance and I am sure that I would not have booked if I had noticed that. Our room was situated at the top of the stairs which meant other guests walking past possibly as you were heading to have or return from a shower. Our room could also be seen from a public area (a small corridor from the main bar to the beer garden) which is not good especially for a woman. The hosts went out of their way to find us...

“Couldn’t recommend The Tenpus at Charlton Hall more! We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges and had such a lovely relaxing time. We had planned to eat at the Lobster Pot in Bamburgh but lucky for us they were a chef down and couldn’t accommodate us so we ate in the Tempus restaurant which was outstanding. I didn’t catch our servers name but he was so friendly and made us very welcome. Food was delicious. Can’t wait to book again… absolutely loved everything about our visit.”

“Beautifully renovated and clean room in a small building next door to the pub. We both found the mattress on our bed to be a bit too firm though. It made a lovely base for a couple of days exploring the area and the nearby beach (15 minute walk) is stunning. For a longer stay the room may possibly be a bit small but for two nights it was ideal. Good breakfast and the meals in the pub were very good without being overly expensive. “We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Our room (127) was spacious and well equipped, in a quieter position looking over the car park away from but conveniently located for the main road. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent too. Would definitely recommend and stay here again 👍”

Floor was wet through every time we had a shower. Asked for poached egg on toast for breakfast and were told she would do the eggs and we had to do the toast but no times given so eggs went cold while waiting for toast.
