It was developed during the 1980s in what was then the Soviet-Union in response to American fighters like the F-15, F-16 and F-18. The SU-27 is the pride of the Ukrainian air force, a country that is part of the ‘Partnership for Peace’ with NATO and is as such also a partner to the Belgian air force.
