“The room has lovely sea views but the carpet is heavily stained and the decor generally quite tired. The room was also incredibly hot despite being offered a fan by the helpful staff. It is a great hindrance that the windows cannot be opened more than a few inches. For a hotel of this reputation and in this price range, air conditioning should be incorporated throughout. “We enjoyed our stay at The Imperial Hotel. The hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the sea, The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent with very large portions, a little too big for us. There is also a nice little bar for afternoon and evening drinks. The hotel could do with some updating and although I'd say it was generally clean, I don't think a vacuum had been used in our room the whole week.”

10. La Ville Hotel

Alderney

“Our attic room was very disappointing; dark with only small windows from which you could see the roof opposite. There did not appear a cohesive fire escape plan in an old building with lots of twisty hallways and stairs. It was noisy in the evening until 1 am from the pub next door (which belonged to the hotel) and the karaoke night was excruciating! Breakfast was adequate. The hotel was centrally situated but I would not plan to stay there again.”
