“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “You couldn't ask for more. Central location, great customer service, restraunts and decor themed across the hotel. The room was a family room, which had a nook for a single bed giving people privacy. The room while not large is perfectly adequate with all the facilities you need. While we didn't dine in, but did have breakfast. The service was fabulous, as was the food. Parking is provided but can be awkward to manoeuvre once in due to the angle of the spaces. Highly recommend and will be back.”

“Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Room was lovely. Unfortunately the pool / spa area is grubby. From a long time of not being cleaned properly. The rest of the hotel was kept nice and clean.”

“Lovely hotel, staff were fantastic and room was cleaned to an okay standard. We stayed for 2 nights and our room wasn’t cleaned, tea/coffee not replenished, no fresh towels, toilet rolls not replenished resulting in me having to call reception for more. That was the only downside to the stay”
