“The location of this guest house was excellent, good (free) parking and a delicious breakfast. The room was a bit dirty (hairs that were not mine, cup rings on the glass topped dresser, toothpaste marks on the glasses/mug). I appreciated the lamps with USB chargers and a window that opened. The host/owner was pleasant and friendly”

“The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. “Despite retaining the old pub name, this is now a B&B only, so don't expect a bar or evening meals. The accommodation was good if a little quirky. Our bedroom had polished wood floors rather than carpet, but the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Breakfast (continental) is a help yourself arrangement and was fine. In our case, check in was done without the owner being onsite. He texted us the access codes. The bus stop for Carlisle was opposite the front door. We stayed one...
