“I found this pub when looking for a room with a hot tub for one night away. It’s in a very quiet place with nice scenery. We received a very warm welcome from friendly, pleasant staff. We found all staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious and very clean with everything we needed. Towels, robes, fan, tea and coffee making facility, secluded garden which was not overlooked and a hot tub. The bed was very comfortable. Food was cooked to order and very tasty....

“Lovely pub/restaurant with rooms in a picturesque small village. We had a great dinner and the service throughout our stay was fantastic (thank you Matthew). I wasn’t aware this was part of a chain at the time of booking but I shall be looking out for Butcombe Pubs in future.”

“I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.”

“As a solo traveller, I go to Bournemouth a lot and stay overnight. I was disappointed in my room. It was in a corner on the 3rd floor. The carpet looked dirty and hadn't been hoovered. The bathroom was tiny, and so was the sink so I just about managed to brush my teeth. The tiles were cracked and the towel rack was broken. I wouldn't stay again. The reviews looked good but clearly I had the worst room.”
