“We really enjoyed our stay. We were walking the SWCP and were glad to stop earlier on this leg. (Just dont take the road to the lighthouse and then climb the scree over the hill: steep and dangerous). The room was excellent. Comfortable. Delicious dinner down stairs, and lucky for us on our night, a live singer providing a musical background atmosphere. She was lovely, and just the thing to elevate the evening to next level.”

“We ensured we arrived before 17.00 hours as the hotel has no-one on reception from 17.00hrs onwards. We felt this was a little restrictive although the Ancient Mariner staff were available to a later time in the evening. We found it convenient to have restaurant and bar food available at the Ancient Mariner and can thoroughly recommend it too. Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00, a decent interval of time. The staff were pleasant and friendly but service for the hot food was a little slow...

“Beautiful property, room, service, and a magical view over the charming village of Lynton and the Bristol Channel. Breakfast was amazing. Park your car up at the property and don’t drive the rest of the time. Walk down to village for great restaurants and shops (and up again to return…yes it’s a steep hill, but a lovely walk). Valley of Rocks/coastal path is 15 min walk. Walk down to Lynmouth, take cliff railway back up. This was our favorite stay on our trip through Devon and Cornwall.”

“Our stay at the Lorna Doone B&B could not have been better! We loved everything about our experience in this beautiful house with fantastically friendly hosts. Great room, a delicious breakfast and wonderful people who made us feel like royalty and family at the same time. Certainly one of the best places that we have ever had the luck to experience.”
