“The hotel itself was in a run down condition and needs a lot of money spent on it. My room, had windows into the atrium so my view was of stairs and walls. It also meant there was no airflow, and on this very hot summer, it made it difficult to sleep or be comfortable in any way. The lights in my bathroom did not work, which I mentioned to the staff, and the door self closing mechanism did not have a soft close function so that I was woken each day before 5 am by the slamming of doors. “Staff were great. The valley had no water due to the drought. The staff took it in their stride. They were honest about the situation, provided bottled water and kept guests up to date with the situation which was resolved by the next morning. The room was clean, however the paintwork could do with being refreshed. Tea / coffee stains on the wall by the kettle. The bathroom taps were loose (we tightened them) and the toilet bowl could've used a good scrub below the waterline. However, the...
